Looking back one last time

You can keep the memories

All I want to do is forget you
I don't want the memories
Nothing to remind me
Of a sweet love that never was
When I look back
For the very last time
All I ever tried to do
Was live in peace and get along with you
The hell you put me through
And why I let you
You have to live with it
All I have to do is forget
You can't hurt me anymore
May your next "One"
Be so gracious to even the score
Cause if anyone deserves a serving
Of having cake and eating it too
It's You
You can keep the memories
May they haunt you whenever you think of me
All I want to do is forget you
That's all I want to do

Finding the strength of ending a long-term relationship, being okay with it, and then stumbling across so many reminders of what I endured for so many years. Torture on many levels. All I want to do is forget.
