Message to my dad, who's in heaven

Can You Hear Me, Dad?

by Verna Cole Mitchell

Every little girl needs a someone
When she is growing up -

To teach her right from wrong
To explain the mysteries of life
To tell her Jesus loves her
To hold her when she's afraid
To cry with her when she is hurting
To laugh at her silly jokes
To sing and dance with her
To take her out for ice cream
To let her know the joy of being her dad
To make holidays happy times
To demonstrate the joys of ordinary days
To help her develop goals
To share her dreams
To understand her heart
To forgive her when she makes mistakes
To expect from her the best she can be
To love her always.

Thanks, Dad. You surely did!
