I changed this a bit from the original to more closely comply with the formatting of a Haiku. I don't like it quite as much, but live and learn (hopefully!)

I read once that when Satan approached God, asking for a plot of land, God offered him Texas. The old devil decided it was far too hot and returned to Hell.
I love my state, y'all, but these days are getting to be unbearable! One year we had 100 days of 100-degree heat. I'm hoping we do not break that record!
