Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Love isn't there in the morning

Something Wanting

by Beck Fenton

Crumpled dawn awakens me

I too am disheveled

Sheets seeming grimy

Wrinkles are more apparent

In early light

Mascara accents

Ever widening circles

Beneath my topaz eyes

My golden eyes

My bedroom eyes

I am empty

Even of loneliness

All that is left

Of crystal bubbles

I put away

In my memory mind

Later I will choose

Only the best

To remember

And the rest...

The ugliness fades even now

I await the evening stars

To wish upon again.

Fleedle's Bjork-Based Poetry Jam writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem - any style, any genre - inspired by or similar in theme to the Bjork song 'Bachelorette' (see selected lyrics below). Go crazy (Bjork is a talented lady, but she's nuttier than a schizophrenic squirrel, so let's revel in that!) - free your imagination, and let's see what we can come up with! Sample lyrics from the start and the end of the song (feel free to look up the rest, of course):

I'm a fountain of blood
In the shape of a girl

-----

I'm a tree that grows hearts
One for each that you take
You're the intruder's hand
I'm the branch that you break
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
