Skies of Sun and Rain

Shadows on the sidewalk
Grow longer at day’s end
Sunshine bids a red adieu
Beginning to descend
 
Work, for now, is over
Watching from up high
As children play with happiness
Under sun’s brightened sky
 
Spider on the tree trunk
Gets a tan as he spins
Sacrificial dinner
Everybody wins
 
Water from the Heavens
Dark clouds are rolling in
Sun turns into rainy night
Moon’s shift will soon begin
