I felt terror in the night.

Sinister

by HarryT

Oozing from our floor-length mirror was a sinister man cloaked in black. My adrenaline spiked. I scanned his appearance. Terrifying were his skeletal face, boney hands, and red glowing eyes. My breath quickened. The murky figure seeped vaporously from the mirror. In his scraggy hand, a scythe flash in the moonlight. Sliding sounds along the floor. I did not know whether to hide or run. The horrible man swung the scythe. I let an agonizing scream as piercing pain exploded in my side.

“C’mon! Wake up!” my wife cried, as she poked me hard with her elbow. “You’re dreaming again.”
