My Dog, Red

by GeraldShuler

I have a dog, his name is Red.
I wish his name was Blue instead.
My Mom won't let me change his name
She says his name should stay the same.
What if she had treats to eat
And she called me Bill instead of Pete?
I wouldn't know that she meant me
Just like Red... so now I see.
So Red is Red as Red can be
When I call for Red he comes to me.
Always.
