Heartbreak at the Beach

Alone on our once loved beach
Where we splashed, hand in hand,
Trailed our naked footprints as
Whispering waves kissed the sand,
 
Today, I sit shrouded in solitude
Watching couples enjoying each other
Stretched out on colorful blankets
Sunning, laughing, touching, holding
 
Long gone is such pleasure
Since your wave of betrayal
Swept our love away

Sadness has overcome us all at one time or another. Either caused by a relative or close friend's death or from the girl or guy that broke our heart or just life in general. We all handle situations differently, some good, some bad. This contest gives us the ability to explore this.
