The Parishioners

Father McNally stared at the small graveyard outside his church. He had known every one of them, and to him they would always be his parishioners, even in death.

As the number of gravestones steadily grew his congregation was slowly depleting. Circle of life, he thought.

On the horizon, the priest saw the first glimpse of the sunrise. It wouldn’t be long now. As it got lighter, he began to fade from the earth. Father McNally was joining his parishioners
