Summertime

“And the livin’ is easy,”
so says a line in an old song.
 
Easy if one can abide
the sweltering days,
the sizzling temperatures,
humidity to drown a duck,
and
sunburns that scorch the skin
 ‘til one looks like
a giant cardinal.
 
Summer is great
for those stout souls
who enjoy living
in
a
sauna.
