I have nested and created a home for you.
I cleaned all day, and I cleaned all night,
Just to make sure everything was just right.

To please you, I tried,
But you cried and cried.
Once more I pleaded,
And we slept, depleted.

You awoke in the night, time and time again,
But I prayed the teddy bear would make it end.
It took me too long to see,
You didn't want Teddy, only me.

Years past and you grew up nice and strong.
Now, I am the one, pleading to tag along.
Your face tucked behind screens and memes,
And when its not, there's kicks and screams.

So, without further ado,
A poem just for you.
A gift you won't understand right now,
But I hope one day you will somehow.
