I once was blind but now I see.

When Jesus Touched Me

by Frank Jauregui

It was impossible!
There was no hope for me!
It took a miracle
When my sweet Jesus came and set me free.
I did not understand
When he reached out his hand
My sin and doubt
Caused me to turn and walk away.

But when he touched me
Oh, when he touched me!
The blindness lifted from my eyes and I could see!
Yes, when he touched me, when Jesus touched me
The blindness lifted from my eyes and I could see!
I saw the bloody trail
The imprints of the nails
The crown of thorns
Declared his love for me!
The wound upon his side
The last words that he cried
Declared my freedom from Mount Calvary!

Oh, when he touched me!
When Jesus touched me
The blindness lifted from my eyes
And I could see!

Faith Poetry Contest contest entry

No one who is spiritually blind knows that he is, that is why it takes a miracle from God for our eyes to opened to the truth of the Gospel. It is impossible for this to happen without God's direct intervention. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Salvation is a free gift that I humbly received some 29 years ago. I have long since stopped trying to understand it, or even explain it other than, it was a miracle and miracles can not be explained. All that I want now is to get closer to my Jesus; to become more and more like him - to be more in him as he is in me.
