A little look at life and choices

Rock

by Peter Mac

Rock; what's your choice?
Is it for music, noisy and loud?
Makes you feel brave, upright, and proud?
Or just rolls right by you, still one of the crowd.

Rock; what's your choice?
Is it out on the beach, battered by waves?
Frightened of life, hiding in caves?
Or just passes by you, still one of life's slaves.

Rock; what's your choice?
Out on the tree-top, rocked back and to?
Never deciding, not knowing what's true?
And follows the crowd, not one of the few.

Rock; what's your choice?
Is it dependable, helping your mates?
Knowing your path, choosing your fates,
And strong like Saint Peter, who waits at God's Gates.
