A very short story about a rusty old tractor

The Life of an old tractor.

by eliz100

I was once a shiny, green, John Deere tractor. Farmer Jones bought me right off the show room floor. I heard him say,"only the best for the Jones Farm." I felt happy working for farmer Jones. I gave him many years of service and he kept me well oiled and filled with gas. One day he kicked my tire, which didn't hurt. Then he said, "time for retirement." Which hurt my feelings. On the ride to the to the pasture for old machines, I felt more and more depressed with each turn of my tires." At first he pulled me out and shined me up for the 4th of July Parade. As I started to rust, I was left to rust and break down.

Sound familiar! Is this what we do to our old people in the USA? Could we do better for our our seniors?
