Sweet treats are irresistible.

The Unashamed Glutton

Leave the veggies, don’t serve the meats,
my sweet tooth just seeks sticky treats.
(The other teeth have fallen out;
my love of sugar led the rout.)
Insatiable, my gluttony
will prob’ly be the death of me.

Give me plenty of cakes and such —
yes, more and more can’t be too much.
So load my plate and pile it high
with that big slice of meringue pie,
some hot fudge sauce and custard creams.
I’m just a glutton, so it seems.

I gorge on buns and chomp on chocs —
my pudgy legs burst from my socks.
My booty’s huge, but I don’t care,
just pass me that cream-filled eclair!
I can wobble my double chin,
for I’ve embraced my glutton’s sin.

Writing Prompt
Write a poem that involves one of the seven deadly sins

Author note:
This poem is not entirely autobiographical, just a little bit. I do have a sweet tooth, but I also have enough self discipline to eat only one entire block of chocolate at a time. The painting is one I did myself, titled 'Sweet Treats'. I hope you can't notice where I drooled on it while I was painting.
