My Crystal Silhouette

by John Ciarmello

Against the rage, the tranquil sleep.
Behind the screams, a silent awe.
Yet, upon this earth, my shadows break-
to crystal silhouettes.

Within the fire, an ember cools.
Above the storm, a haunting calm.
Yet, upon this earth, my shadows break-
to crystal silhouettes.

Inside the weak, a ton of steel.
Beneath the shale, a rush of life.
Yet, upon this earth, my shadows break-
to crystal silhouettes.

Beyond the pain, white velvet fields.
Pulled from space, a weightless star.
Yet, upon this earth, my shadows break-
to crystal silhouettes.

To slow its surge, a timeless clock.
To hold a chain of stringless beads.
To find on earth my shadow whole,
my crystal silhouette.
