Bee Wise: Don't Fly Buzzed

by Reese Turner

By the wine pub’s garden dining, a bottle had spilled upon
A tray and the table, but mattered not as the diners were all gone.
Bobby Bumble Bee was buzzing over this, his usual evening route,
When he spotted that tray of liquid: “That’s what I’m talkin’ about!”
He splashed in, mouth wide open, and as he slid across the tray
Bobby laughed, “I’m really a Merlot bee, but I enjoy a Chardonnay”.
Soon, he was on his back, unable to fly. A bus boy, seeing his plight,
Gently hid Bobby under the stairs, “Don’t fly buzzed! Sleep it
off tonight!”

Can you imagine the glee
Of a poor old worker bee
Finding special nectar, he,
On a tray outside, for free?
