Yo'll Always Be My Baby

Kneeling beside him, I noticed only his face. Steel gray eyes stared toward the ceiling fan which whirred a familiar rhythm. "Hump-ty Dump-ty sat on a wall..." I quietly sang along.
"My beautiful baby boy, I'm blessed to be your mom," I whispered.
As I kissed his forehead, sirens blared. Paramedics burst in. I sat back on my heels staring at the heroin needle still dangling from my baby's arm.
