From Doubt to Delight

by Boogienights

The first time I set eyes on him,
I thought him handsome, then he spoke.
Quite arrogant he was, that's true,
he laughed real hard at his own jokes.

So confident, full of himself,
a man not sensitive at all.
Romantic dreams I put on hold,
there was no way for him, I'd fall.

Still, there was something in his touch,
a twinkle in his deep blue eyes.
I cannot lie, intrigued I was,
the pull between us a surprise.

I thought, what do I have to lose?
We went out on a date one night,
still thinking he was not for me...
But I began to see the light.

His arrogance was just an act,
he was the sweetest man I'd met.
He charmed me as we talked all night,
a finer man, I'd never get.

Years have gone past, and still, it's him
that always makes me feel so fine.
No matter where life takes us to,
he'll always be my Valentine.
