A Window's Size or What You See

by Reese Turner

Indeed! All who wander are not lost.
From Texas’ heat to Vermont’s frost
Our home takes us so many places
To near and far with happy faces.

See, our home address is the USA.
We love to visit, but not long to stay.
On six big tires, many roads we roll,
Some big, some small, some have a toll

Some are straight, some wind around
Hills and lakes, through valleys found.
Our home takes us wherever we choose
We have beds for sleep, TVs for news.

Shower and potty? Yep, got those, too.
Cookin’ stove? Sure. Fridges? We do!
Need a Coke? Beer? No need to scream;
We got ‘em chilled – livin’ the dream!

Windows all ‘round so we can see
Where we are and where we’ll soon be.
Dogs? You’re kidding! So spoiled, our two -
They’ve sniffed America through and through.

But, it’s the campfire burning out our door
Which keeps us roamin’ round for more.
It’s the stars and moon at night we see,
Makes our life right!  In our RV, we're free!

House Poem writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem about your house/apartment.
Any style or length.
Describe your house/apartment/dwelling to us.
No picture, just words.
Let us envision where you live through your words.

We've loved our homes and neighborhood
With friends and fun - it did us good.
But now, the kids are all long gone
And we were, usually, home all alone
So, we've run away from home - yippie!
From mowing to taxes, we're now free
Just me, my wife, and dogs in our RV!
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
