Left ...
So sad

A difficult night.
Even our dog was restless on his pillow.
I tossed and turned. I could do nothing to change the situation.
However, I could not block it from my thoughts. The grief was intense, and consuming. Would it ever cease?
I must not let it affect me like this … but I could not relax or settle.
My heart was pounding. Time and time again I tried deep breathing.
Finally sleep took over, for all of us.
The new puppy next door had cried itself to sleep … first night away from his mother.
