Behind These Doors

Behind these ancient doors
lies . . .
A land of magic
where children live in big, brown brogans,
little boys pull plums out of pies,
and three men in a tub take showers.

A land
where rivers flow north
and birds fly south for the winter,
the sun shines at night,
the moon rises at noon,
and the dish married the spoon.

A land of fairies
that live under toadstools
and dance in the forest at nighttime
but we hear only their music.

A magic land
only the young at heart
can visit.
