Tossing the coin into the well,
no sound made, as the coin fell,
falling onto a lucky pile,
It did bring a smile.

Closing wrinkled eyes, making a wish,
with all her heart, something to cherish;
opening her eyes, her silence is profound,
only gentle wind blowing, makes a sound.

Down the road the old woman ambles,
towards her home, now in shambles,
although treasured-
loving memories, a wish remembered.
