A Poem

All is not Lost

by Dolly'sPoems

I wonder where the lost things go?
Elusive socks or di'mond ring?
Do insects hide beneath the snow?
Or are they lost until the spring?

Why documents cannot be found?
And car keys leave us in despair;
they're gone, decided underground
is where they go, we're not aware.

And as for loved ones leaving earth,
behind a star they hide in skies;
at night a poem starts to birth,
and lost from thoughts before sun rise.

We don't forget the things we've lost,
our memory stays sharp and clear,
despite a bitter winter frost,
those lost things often reappear.

So losing things is not for good,
sometimes we have a lucky find--
a loss for me is understood
to be a grief we leave behind.
