Caught off guard in...
This Business Of Love
Assigned to work together for a week,
the project would require all their skill.
She really didn't like him from the start,
but there were deadlines that they had to fill.
The more they talked the colder she became,
he wondered what it was that he had done.
The project came together as was planned,
but the battle for her heart, yet to be won.
The project was hailed as a success,
she held her hand out when they said goodbye.
It's then she saw the look in his brown eyes,
the touch of his hand on her made sparks fly.
To mix business with pleasure, not his thing,
and yet, his thoughts about her wouldn't stop.
Somehow, he had saw through her icy shield,
the thought that she would leave made his heart drop.
They were so very different, that she knew,
she'd been reserved and careful all her life
and he was free and easy, full of fun.
To get involved with him would just cause strife.
Her beauty far surpassed what his eyes saw,
a soul so beautiful is what she had.
He thought her special, he was falling hard,
just being close to her made him feel glad.
She thought him arrogant, but she was wrong,
his confidence had made him seem that way.
The time she spent with him made her fall hard,
just being close to him brightened her day.
It seemed like they would go their separate ways,
she picked her folders up and turned to go.
But something stopped both of them in their tracks,
the feelings that they had began to grow.
The fates that be will always find a way,
and cupid knows his business, that's for sure.
When love connects two hearts just seize the day,
when opposites attract there is no cure.
