Ode to Guidance

by DragonSkulls

This is an ode to precious rules.
They're simple as can be,
and they're right there in front of us
where everyone can see.

I make a little wish today,
if only we had tools
that help the absentminded folk
to read these simple rules.

The rules are placed upon the page
for guidance on our path.
But sadly some that join these prompts
can't seem to do the math.

If so inclined to join the fun
my own sweet muse coerce,
I'd seek the rules the contest has
and then I'd read them first.

Again, my ode's to you dear rules
that cause no harm or fret.
I'm sad that few pay you small heed
without ashamed regret.

Perhaps some day they'll seek your worth
and know you're all we need.
I hope what's found to grow and learn
is simply just to read.
