You Did A Lot For Us

To Dad

by pookietoo

When we were young, we learned how to pray.
The accordion you loved to play.
You learned how to play by ear.
The songs you played we loved to hear.

You worked hard at the jobs you had.
The fun things we did made me feel glad.

Thank you for all of the things you'd do.
Holidays were fun, you know that's true.

Some of us played sports. You watched us play.
You worked hard on the farm every day.
You taught us all how to choose the right,
And you kept us warm on a cold night.

You taught us all how to value life.
You were a great husband to your wife.
You are so proud if ys all I know.
I miss you, Dad, I love you so.
