observing ALL those who could use a hand
a loving, helpful hand
are we NOT seeing it,
those of us who are still able-bodied?
there are many visibly struggling
any of us willing to exit our comfort zone,
leave our bench
to assist someone who is alone?

Free-style poem: human suffering writing prompt entry

Writing Prompt
The topic for this contest is: Human suffering.

I sat having a Starbucks and watched so many people go by who could barely push their cart to their car. I helped a lady with her handicapped son in a wheelchair. He was a good sized young man and she was pushing him and her loaded cart. Who sits and watches this without offering to help? Not me. Not ever again. Thank you Meg119 for a great photo!
