Once more fireworks would light the sky
as bells toll and fairy lights wink
with laughter and the clink of glasses
dainty feet would cavort all night

then the final goodbye
as the clock strike twelve
the year would fall
like a yellowed autumn leaf
shrugged off by the tree.
but these emotions linger

with love and gratitude i think
of those who stood by me
with great admiration I look
upon those who inspire me

I seek forgiveness from those
I have hurt or offended
to those who have hurt me
I harbour no grudge

i pray for a peaceful world
I pray for the Second Coming.
