I cant change the future

Deja vu

by Nathan Allen

I have a gift that is completely useless.

I see the future.

Before I fall asleep I see a vision of what may come to be.

But the universe has a sense of humor.

What I see are the in-between moments of life

The television being watched

The dishes being done

I hate it

I wish to see my mistakes before I make them.

I wish to see the hurt so I won't ever cause it.

It makes me angry and sad all wrapped into one.

Not because of what it is.

But that it shows the future may be unchangeable.

I'll keep my gift and maybe one day it will actually do me some damn good.

Until then I make my own future and I'll make it an amazingly good one
