I was less than thrilled the Christmas of 1996. I had just turned sixteen, and was told on my birthday that money was tight. No matter what money was like, there was always a load of great gifts for Christmas.
Christmas morning dawned, and I was so excited! The excitement faded out quickly when I realized that all of my gifts were clothes and underwear. I learned that year what they meant by "money is tight".
