My heart feels encumbered,
knowing my days are numbered.
As I watch my grandchildren at
play, they brighten my today.
I've lived a full life, I can't complain,
most days I lived, with little rain.
I had many days with my best friend,
soon we will be together again.
I look at the branches of my family
tree, and suddenly my spirit flies
free.
