Cold Country

Brrrrrr.....It's Cold! Contest Winner

Minnesota is very cold,
it gets real old if truth be told.
All winter, storms bring snow and ice,
and freezing temps that aren't too nice.

Twenty below just doesn't thrill,
it gets far worse with winds that chill.
In only moments lips turn blue,
and icicles hang off of you.

Protect yourself and do it right,
or you may get severe frost bite.
The wind cuts through you like a knife,
too long exposed, you'll lose your life.

Cover your eyes or they'll be fused
with ice and you won't be amused.
With icy shivers through and through,
the tears you cry freeze up on you.

Then numbness will set in you quick,
as fingers turn white it will click
that you're in danger, you'll feel sick.
Then slip on streets that have turned slick.

Surviving Minnesota's tough,
the cold in winter makes it rough.
These days will pass, but not too soon,
cause warm up doesn't start 'till June.
