The war was four long years.

Nine Million Men

by pookietoo

So many soldiers
who fought in the war,
And all of the men had a battle scar.
The soldiers fought until the sun went down.
There were many casualties all around.

For four long years all of the soldiers fought,
And all of the men gave it all they got.
There was nine million men who had to fall,
All of the soldiers who remained had to stand tall.

There were many Germans on the hillside.
At 10:59 the last soldier died.
The war ended on the eleventh day.
Heavy artillery made the skies gray.

Arlington is where the dead soldiers lie.
In front of every grave the flags will fly.
There were also women who had to fall.
Around twenty million who died in all.
