I flew in a jumbo jet on a non-stop scenic flight over Antarctica (thirteen hours from start to finish), and the scenery was stunningly breathtaking. Yes, we flew low enough to see marine life, penguins, glaciers, different ice formations and consistencies - and research stations. There was a wonderful commentary provided and scientists on board the flight.
However, the more humans go there, the more spoiled it will become, as humans inevitably leave a mark wherever they go.
