life is often harsh,
struggles abound
my soul is full of aches
yet at night when my
eyes close, a majestic
cat enters my world

he owns the jungle
but is a strong presence
as we walk together
along the ocean shore

his coat is smooth
my hand glides
across his back
while purrs increase
feelings of contentment,
comfort and happiness
reflect in tiger stripes

my night time friend
comes to remind me
of leaving fears, stresses,
anxiety, sadness behind,
his immense handsomeness
takes away my negativity

so life in daylight is
not so bad as I
wait for the night
when my feline friend
arrives, nudging me,
we play as good thoughts
emerge
