Just a Friend

I do not pray, but I still care
About my friends, and their welfare.
In times of stress, it can be hard
To see ways out, for those scarred.
A helping hand or kindly word
Is what I offer, unreserved;
A trouble shared can be relief
A listening ear, for a debrief.
A smile, and hug, to reassure
Can be a comfort when unsure.
At times, we all can feel quite down
When circumstances make us frown.
There are some things I cannot mend,
But I can always be a friend.
So know, that I will always be
Here for you, because I'm me.

Having just read Roy and Helen's prayer poems, for Fanstory friends who are having a tough time for many reasons. I thought I would add a chapter. Although I do not have a religion, I feel I am quite a spiritual and intuitive person , I am always here for friends and family and also the patient's I care for in my nursing career.

I hope my poem is acceptable also
