Heed the Signs

by Dolly'sPoems

The changes are the signs of things to come,
ignore them at your peril, heed the fall;
as leaves float to the earth, the time has run,
a slow descent are signals, though they're small.

We often underestimate the power--
the shift of mood, a voice containing doubt;
ignore it at your peril, feel the shower,
now is the time to question, take account.

And once the rot sets in, the scene is set,
decaying leaves denote a downward trend;
ignore them at your peril, they're a threat,
so modify behaviour, always bend.

There will be signs that everything will perish,
if you ignore a love you've come to cherish.
