Truth misconstrued: numbers never lie
Chinese Lesson
by Elizabeth Emerald
I volunteer at a food pantry twice a week. We are inundated with customers; we can barely keep up.
Some get frustrated waiting to be served, or are disappointed at not receiving certain items. Most are pleasant regardless; several get pushy.
I've heard muttered many a time by my fellow servers: Most of the rude ones are Chinese.
In fact, 4 of 5 times the rude one is Chinese.
In fact, 4 of 5 times the gracious one is Chinese.
It must be so: 80 percent of our population is Chinese.
