Life Beyond the Grave

by Dolly'sPoems

I chose my path in life with careful steps,
decisions to avoid all things corrupt;
and with a stroke of luck and prudent checks,
I chided false intentions, favoured trust.

And you, among my treasures, stole my heart,
you gave to me great comfort-- deepest grief;
my dearest friend, we had a life to chart,
and you fell prey to death, the vulgar thief.

Beyond the grave you left me with your hope,
internal is your presence in this life;
not just through memories can I now cope,
but children too, quell every bit of strife.

No life is wasted, this is understood--
your legacy on earth lives on for good.
