Life of Something Bee-Utiful

by Wils

Be careful of me, I’ve not long to live
One touch of my sting and  my life I’ll give
I’d rather be buzzing out in the field
Collecting the nectar for honey to yield

I am a worker, not a queen or drone
Responsible for the honey you own
If I wasn't here your toast would be yuck
You’d have to use P, B n J muck

The buzz  you hear in the distance each day
Is me hard at work so please stay away
As much as I’d love to be your lifelong friend
I’d give you a sting and my life would end

Next time you take honey from your pantry
Pause for a moment to just think of me
The buzzer who went flower to flower
So you could have honey at the breakfast hour
