Music in the Air

we lay on the lawn
on a soft patch-work quilt
holding hands while
Chicago Symphony serenades
With Boléro in C Major, M. 81
the mood is nostalgic, sweet
and quietly complex, the
rhythm, casting a magical spell
the gradual crescendo
is a musical thrill ride
under a star-studded sky,
we revealed our love
at the Ravinia Festival
in Highland Park, Illinois
so many years ago
