Visiting Far Away

by Lana Marie

Once upon a time
in two states far away
were two little cousins
excited to play.

One had to travel far,
and get on an airplane,
she saw the clouds and moon,
out the window pane.

Way up in the sky
no longer on the ground,
lots of people sleeping
not making any sound.

The seatbelt sign is on,
the seat must be upright.
No one running around
at any time this flight.

Now once the airplane lands,
you know it won't be long.
When they see each-other
they sing a special song.

"We really love each other
we are happy as can be!
We really love each other
we're a happy family .
We love to play together
with a lot of different toys.
We laugh a lot together
when we make a silly noise"

One of the cousins lives
nearby a big mountain.
If you climb to the top,
There's no drinking fountain.

The other cousin lives
where there's 10,000 lakes.
In the winter season
there's so many snow flakes.

When they leave the airport,
they get into a car.
While driving down the road
it seems so very far.

They pull up in the driveway
at the cousin's house.
They're excited to wear
their purple matching blouse.

When they're inside the door
they give a great big hug,
they start laughing so hard
and rolling on the rug.

The girls had a few days
to sleepover and play.
They don't want it to end
for they each want to stay.

They had a great visit
it's time to say goodbye,
drive back to the airport
get on the plane and fly.

"I'm going to miss you
I'm feeling a bit sad.
Next time we get together
we'll both be very glad."

"I'll be flying in an airplane
I'm going really far
it won't take long to get there
it's faster than a car."
