Lifting Burdens

by Sugarray77

Meandering down dusty lanes
where golden motes dance in the air,
I see the path divides in twain
and wonder who's residing there.

I think the lady down that way
is old and burdened low with care.
If I stopped by what would she say?
What if I brought some joy to share?

Would she be stunned and think me droll
or simply think I'd lost my mind?
I hope she'd see a caring soul
who only wanted to be kind.
