Preparation after death

Burial

by Lana Marie

There's a SPICE that gets used in foreign lands
in empty cavities it's filled.
Bodies preserved after DEATH.

A lifeless form has been emptied of blood,
covered in the aroma of myrrh.
Not taking another breath.

It may be too GRAPHIC to be shown how.
That's not something that I'd want to see,
I'd quiver at how it's done.

Ultimately there's a JOY that I have
knowing where I'll spend eternity.
In the presence of God's son.
