To Fill the Void
by Leann DS
She never wanted for anything, not the latest toys and fashions, new cars, a college education or even a managerial position in her father's company.
She always had countless lovers, and drank herself into many a stupor throughout the years, then moved to cocaine. Now she sat with a rubber tourniquet tied tightly around her bicep, preparing the syringe for her first heroin injection. She was constantly searching for something.
She was never allowed to discover that the only thing that could fill that empty space within her heart was the feeling of accomplishment that only hard work can bring.
