A Sonnet for June

June a Winter Hoar

by Chrissy710

The month of June for me brings cold with rain,
as Winter winds blow Autumn leaves away.
Bare trees all stripped they shiver once again,
in cloudy dark grey skies through out each day.

Inside the fire burns to warm our hands,
wards off the chills from ventures made outside.
We hang our winter gear upon coat stands,
our cats and dogs stretch out by fireside

The only recompense with June for me,
is half the year has gone and Spring is near.
Soon warm beginnings o'er the land I'll see,
and overhead our skies stay blue and clear.

Then Summer's sun will make me smile once more;
No longer will I feel June's Winter hoar.
