Ebbing Away

I feel my life ebbing away,
see it, feel it, day after day.
I ask the Lord, please let me stay,
but, never hear ''You'll be okay''.

I want to linger just awhile
and face each day with a big smile.
If I could have another mile,
I'd place my memories back on file.

These desires I have tried to earn
and stayed the course on ev'ry turn.
Following the good things, as I learn.
Life is so good, for that I yearn.

I thank you Lord, for all I've had,
for all the good, for all the bad,
but, thoughts of leaving make me sad.
Help me, I'll be forever glad.
