Clown Cleaning

by Wils

A circus rolled into the town where you live
With acrobats, monkeys and bright balloons to give
The fun clown invited you onto the stage
Tremendous adventure for someone your age

You looked at the clown’s face and started to laugh
His red nose was long, like the neck of a giraffe
And right at the end it had started to drip
Tiny drops of something that landed “KER-PLIP”

The funny clown asked you to clean up his nose
Gave you a tissue, you can use one of those
“Just wipe it,” he said “’til the tissue is wet.
Then we can get on with the best clown show yet.”

You wiped at the nose but as hard as you tried
It only got wetter, refused to get dried
The clown’s longish nose began to get shorter
Back to its normal size, just as it oughtta

Small sprinkles of water covered the clown’s face
As you rubbed the red nose right back into place
The clown gave a tweak, his nose sounded a toot
Which audience children thought extremely cute

The clown said a big thank you for what you did
Helping his large nose to the space it had slid
He knew it was true, you would never forget
Your day at the circus when you and clown met
