Help Mr. Bones look sharp for his date!

Mr. Bones

by Mimi Linny

Clickety, clackity
Who is that
Looking sharp
In his top hat?

Clackety, Clickety
Skeleton stones
He's dressed as handsome Mr. Bones!

Clickety, clackity
He can’t wait
For Mr. Bones has got a date

Clackety, clickity
Round his neck
What did he forget to check?
Something's missing on this guy
I think it is his red bow-tie!

Clickety, clackity
What to do?
Mr. Bones is asking you
To help him dress, just play along
And draw his dazzling bow-tie on!

Poem For A Child writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem for children. It must rhyme.

This is a little poem for children that I wanted to use as a Halloween Party Game where the cute little skeleton would be all dressed up but without his bow-tie. Similar to "Pin the Tail on the Donkey," the child would be blindfolded and then try to pin or tape the red bow-tie onto the neck of Mr. Bones. I thought this may work well as a little story-book, too, where the child could draw a red bow-tie onto Mr. Bones'.
